Punjab Government committed to welfare of freedom fighters and their families
Chandigarh, July 5:
The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is making every possible effort to ensure the welfare and dignity of freedom fighters and their families. This was stated by Freedom Fighters, Defence Services Welfare and Horticulture Minister Mr. Mohinder Bhagat.
The Cabinet Minister said that freedom fighters made unparalleled sacrifices for the country’s independence, and their contribution will always deserve the highest respect and honour. He said that the Punjab Government is fully committed to the welfare of freedom fighters and their families and is giving special attention to their needs.
Mr. Bhagat informed that the Punjab Government is providing a monthly pension of Rs. 11,000 to freedom fighters, their widows, unmarried and unemployed daughters and unemployed sons to ensure that they are able to lead a life of dignity.
He further said that the Mann Government is implementing people-centric policies for the welfare of every section of society and remains committed to extending every possible assistance to the families of freedom fighters.
