SAYS, PUNJAB GOVERNMENT, LED BY CHIEF MINISTER BHAGWANT SINGH MANN, IS COMMITTED TO PROTECTING INTERESTS OF PEOPLE OF STATE

The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to protecting the interests of the people of the state. Under this initiative, Minister of Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities, Dr. Baljit Kaur, stated that the fake backward classes certificate of Sonia Malhotra, an ETT teacher at Government Primary School Jawalapur Block Bhunarheri-1 in District Patiala, has been rejected by the State Level Scrutiny Committee established by the Punjab Government.
Sharing details, Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur mentioned that Balvir Singh son of Nirmal Singh from Patiala, filed a complaint with the Director of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Department. This complaint revealed that Sonia Malhotra, an ETT teacher at Government Primary School Jawalapur Block Bhunarheri-1, Patiala, had obtained a fake backward classes certificate.
Minister further stated that Sonia Malhotra belongs to the Arora caste, which is a general caste. She obtained the BC certificate after marrying a Kamboj Sikh person, who belongs to a backward class. She used this certificate to got a government job as an ETT teacher in the Education Department.
She mentioned that after reviewing the report from the vigilance cell, the state-level scrutiny committee confirmed that Sonia Malhotra’s BC certificate is fake and decided to cancel it.
Cabinet Minister also stated that the department has written to the Deputy Commissioner of Patiala, requesting the cancellation and confiscation of Sonia Malhotra’s BC Certificate No: 2697 dated 17.02.96.
