Education is the only way to realise the dream of equalzation in society

Punjab Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, on Thursday, launched e-portal for SC Students to apply for Post Matric Scholarship.
Presiding over a training session regarding SC Scholarship held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhawan, Mohali, Dr. Baljit Kaur said that this is the unique initiative of the department to provide such a state-of-the-art tool to students so that their time and money could be saved and their energy could be utilised in positive way. Dwelling on the teachings of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, she said that education is the vital tool to create equal society and this is the befitting tribute to the founder of the constitution to provide fair and reasonable education opportunities to the downtrodden sections of the society.
The Cabinet Minister stated that dreams of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar will be realised through education as Baba Sahib always raised his voice to educate every section of the society. She said that the target of social equality will only be achieved through education. She also highlighted her efforts to release funds of Rs. 181.03 crore under Post Matric Scholarship Scheme and this amount would be released to the students soon.
Dr. Baljit Kaur also inspired the trainers to achieve the target pertaining to implement these schemes on ground level so that every eligible student will be able to get the benefits of these schemes. She added that Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Department has initiated various initiatives for the welfare of the SC students.
She also assured the management of Dr. BR Ambedkar Bhawan to fulfill all their legitimate demands. Principal Secretary Social Justice and Empowerment Mr. Ramesh Ganta expressed words of gratitude towards the Minister for visiting the training program and enlightened the trainers about the future course of action. Director Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Ms. Amrit Kaur Gill and Director Sub Plan Mr. Raj Bahadur Singh and other officials were also present on the occasion.
Prior to the training, the Cabinet Minister was accorded the Guard of Honour by Mohai Police under the command of Sub Inspector Gurmehar Singh Sidhu. She also paid floral tributes to Dr. BR Ambedkar.
