Assured to Resolve Legitimate Demands of Anganwadi Unions
Meeting Scheduled on August 5 with Various Departments Regarding Solutions to Union Demands
Chandigarh, July 8
The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, remains dedicated to addressing the legitimate demands of its employees. In line with this commitment, Dr. Baljit Kaur, Minister for Social Security, Women and Child Development, convened a meeting with the Anganwadi Mulajam Union Punjab (CITU) and Sarva Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union Punjab to address their issues.
The meeting was held in a congenial atmosphere. The unions presented several key demands, including: Grade 3 status for Anganwadi workers and Grade 4 for helpers, Inclusion of children aged 0 to 6 years in Anganwadi centers, Pre-nursery teacher status for Anganwadi workers, Severance and gratuity benefits for Anganwadi workers and helpers, Recruitment of additional Anganwadi workers and helpers, Medical leave provisions,
Creation of health cards for free treatment under the Ayushman Bima Yojana, Doubling of honorariums.
Dr. Kaur attentively listened to the union representatives and assured them that their legitimate demands would be addressed promptly. A follow-up meeting with various departments is scheduled for August 5, 2024, to resolve these issues.
On this occasion, Special Chief Secretary of Social Security, Women and Child Development, Raji P. Shrivastava, Director Dr. Shena Aggarwal, Deputy Director Rupinder Kaur, Amarjit Singh Bhullar and Sukhdeep Singh Jhajj, DPO HQ Sumandeep Kaur and Superintendent Balraj Kaur attended the meeting.
