Punjab Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur gratitude the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for prioritizing Social Security and Justice in the budget for the year 2024-25 presented by Finance Minister S. Harpal Singh Cheema today. She said that this budget is going to give priority to the poor, common people, backward classes, scheduled castes, women, elderly and divyang persons which will help these sections. She said that this third budget of the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will take the state on the lines of development and will realize the dream of making Rangla Punjab by the Chief Minister.
She said that during the budget presented today, a budget of Rs. 5925 crore has been kept for the elderly, widows, divyang persons and helpless children and women, Rs. 1053 crore for Poshan Abhiyan, Ashirwad Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, Accessible India Campaign, while Rs. 260 crores has been earmarked for post matric scholarship scheme.
Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the Punjab government led by Bhagwant Singh Mann is working to raise the standard of living of the elderly, widows, disabled persons, helpless children, and women and scheduled castes in the state.
