Donation of 5000 Sanitary Napkins at Dera Bassi
On 30th and 31st December, the teams of Unifawe Foundation and Girl Up Zahanat organized a mass donation drive, wherein 5000 sanitary napkins were donated to the women in villages of Dera Bassi.
Unifawe Foundation was founded by Anahat Preet Sandhu, a student of St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. To raise money for this initiative she collaborated with the founder of Girl Up Zahanat – Oranos Haider. Anahat and her team sold climate change slogan sweatshirts to raise awareness regarding the climate crisis people all over the world are facing and to encourage people to step up and do their bit in battling climate crisis. The money that was raised from selling climate change sweatshirts was used to purchase 5000 biodegradable sanitary napkins.
This initiative covered two agendas: Climate change mitigation and A pad for every girl. Both being extremely important for the future of our planet and the citizens. The teams of Unifawe Foundation and Girl Up Zahanat, went door to door explaining the importance and need of sanitary napkins for women.
The teams aim to cover more areas, while also urging the youth to help out in their endeavours. United, the youth has the power to bring about change. The teams also would like to thank Mr. Manpreet Singh Bunny Sandhu, under whose guidance this donation drive was able to be a success.
