Diwali night double murder case solved, one arrested, search for others continues: SSP

Hoshiarpur, November 24: District police have nabbed an accused from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh in connection with the double murder case on the night of Diwali. The search for the husband of the main accused woman lawyer and her two accomplices is on in full swing.S.S.P. Navjot Singh Mahal Disclosing this here today,  said that Ashish Kushwaha, husband of the deceased Siya Khullar, was repeatedly called for questioning by the police under Section 174 in the case but he did not participate in the investigation. It so happened that Ashish and his accomplices were behind this double murder. Bulandshahr along with an unidentified accomplice carried out the incident.The district police chief said that Ashish along with his accomplices killed Bhagwant Kishore Gupta and Siya Khullar, put them in his car, set them on fire and tried to destroy the body and the car on November 22 under Section 302. Case No. 265 Police Station Model Town under 201, 120-B was registered and investigation is on. He said that DSP Teams led by Prem Singh conducted raids at various places in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi during which Kapil Kumar’s son Dhal Singh, a resident of Mangalore, was arrested. The accused said during interrogation that there was a quarrel between Ashish and Siya and Advocate Gupta was trying to reach a compromise between the two while Ashish did not like Gupta’s intervention and he consulted with the accused. The interrogation also revealed that Ashish along with one of his accomplices reached Hoshiarpur on November 13 in a Scorpio vehicle from Noida to Sia Khullar’s house and on November 14 Kapil Kumar and his friend Sunil Kumar also reached Hoshiarpur in an Ascent car.S.S.P. Navjot Singh Mahal said that it was also revealed that as per the plan, Advocate Bhagwant Kishore Gupta was called to the house of Geetu alias Sia Khullar and Ashish Kushwaha and his accomplice killed him by giving him something intoxicating and poisoned. The bodies of the two were recovered with the help of car number PB. In 65-Z-2281, Ashish and his accomplices set fire to the bodies, including the vehicle, near the Purhiran Chandigarh bypass. They moved to their village Mangalore where they were living in hiding.Navjot Singh Mahal said that the police were searching for the remaining accused on a war footing and they would be arrested soon.
