74th Independence Day celebrated adhering to Covid-19 safety precautions
Ferozepur, August 15, 2020,(HARISH MONGA): With an appeal to masses to join hands with government to win the war against the novel Corona Virus and make Mission Fateh launched by Capt Amarinder Singh, a mega success in the state, Divisional Commissioner Ferozepur Sumer Singh Gurjar on Saturday morning unfurled nation flag at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium Ferozepur.
Commissioner then saluted a contingent of Punjab Police and addressed the people present there.
Also present on the occasion were MLA from Ferozepur Rural Constituency Mrs. Satkaar Kaur, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Gurpal Singh Chahal, SSP FerozepurBhupinder Singh.
Earlier, Divisional Commissioner Sumer Singh Gurjar, MLA Mrs. Satkaar Kaur, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Gurpal Singh Chahal and SSP Bhupinder Singh visited Shaheed Memorial at Dhussainiwala and paid tributes to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
During his address, Gurjar said that today due to sacrifice ,of these martyrs we are living in and independent country which can never repay the debt of our martyrs.
Hand sanitizers were provided at the venue during the Independence Day celebrations and all the visitors to the stadium were hand sanitized, as well as chairs were installed keeping in view the social distances.
In his address on the occasion of Independence Day, Gurjar appealed to the people to make the mission Fateh launched by the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh a success to defeat the corona virus.
He said that the conditions that the whole world is going through crisis due to corona virus and it can be changed only with the cooperation of the people. He also appealed to the people to wear masks, follow the rules of social distance and wash their hands. He also advised to the people to go to the government hospital and get tested if they have any suspicion about the virus.
The government has formulated a comprehensive strategy to overcome this epidemic and Plasma Banks have been set up in Patiala, Faridkot and Amritsar Medical Colleges and appealed to the people recovering from the disease to donate their plasma.
Briefing about the various achievements of the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, Gurjar said that the Capt. Government has fulfilled its promise to provide smartphones to all the students of Class XII so that the poor and needy families Children can also take online classes.
