Officers will adopt various secondary schools across the district

Moga, April 13 – In a proactive step towards tackling the growing concern of drug abuse among youth, the District Administration Moga has launched the “Yuddh Nasheyan Virudh” campaign. As part of this initiative, officers from District Moga will adopt various secondary schools across the district to identify and prevent drug abuse at an early stage.
While giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Sagar Setia said that 237 senior secondary schools have been adapted to 24 district level officers, including him and both Additional Deputy Commissioners.
He elaborated that the campaign aimed to foster a collaborative effort between the district administration, schools, teachers, students, and parents to create a safe and supportive environment for children. By doing so, the administration hopes to curb the menace of drug abuse, which often begins due to bad company or influence.
He said that the key objectives of the campaign would be identify vulnerable students and potential bad influences that may lead to drug abuse, Educate students, teachers, and parents about the signs of drug abuse and its consequences, provide a support system for students who may be struggling with addiction or are at risk of falling prey to it, foster collaboration between schools, parents, and the district administration to prevent drug abuse.
To implement this officers from District Moga will adopt specific secondary schools and regularly visit them to interact with teachers, students, and parents. They will submit a report on their visits to the Office of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) every 15 days, highlighting progress, challenges, and areas of concern. Officers are encouraged to involve their team members in the campaign and create a roster for regular visits to ensure effective implementation, he added.
He said that the District Administration Moga was committed to providing unconditional support and guidance to all officers involved in the campaign. The administration will work closely with schools to address any issues or concerns that may arise during the implementation of the campaign.
