DSGMC President lauds the Sikh Sangat of Haryana and the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee

Ambala, 14 November

On the second day of the sacred Dharam Rakhiak Yatra, organised by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib and the great Gursikhs — Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji and Bhai Dyal Ji—the procession today moved ahead from Gurdwara Manji Sahib in Ambala.

The spiritually charged ‘Nagar Kirtan’ commenced from Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal, Sri Anandpur Sahib, under the divine canopy of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and under the guidance of the Panj Piare.

Beginning its journey from Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 13, the Yatra reached Sri Manji Sahib, Ambala, after nearly eleven hours of uninterrupted and devoted travel. Throughout the night, the sangat participated in ardaas, kirtan, and dewaans with deep reverence.

Addressing a large gathering at Gurdwara Manji Sahib, DSGMC President S. Harmeet Singh Kalka said that this Nagar Kirtan, dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, stands as a living symbol of the Sikh Panth’s unwavering devotion, unity, and age-old tradition of sacrifice.

S. Kalka extended heartfelt thanks to the sangat that joined the Yatra from Anandpur Sahib, the large participation from Delhi, and representatives from the entire Sant Samaj—Nihang Singh organisations, Damdami Taksal, and the heads of all sampradayas—whose presence added grace and radiance to this spiritual procession.

He shared that Haryana Cabinet Minister Shri Anil Vij also accorded a warm and respectful welcome to the Yatra in Ambala. Thanking him, Kalka noted that the unbroken stream of devotees turning out in large numbers reflects the extraordinary love and reverence people hold for Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. The Yatra received equally enthusiastic and heartfelt welcomes in Ambala, Shahabad Markanda, and Kurukshetra along its route.

S. Kalka expressed deep appreciation for the arrangements made by the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, praising their dedication and spirit of service towards the sangat.

He further announced that on November 23 to 25, historic and unprecedented commemorative events will be held near the Red Fort in New Delhi, in front of Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, to mark Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib’s 350th martyrdom anniversary.

To accommodate devotees coming from across India and abroad, a large tent city is being established, ensuring that every visitor can offer their devotion at the Guru’s feet without any inconvenience or shortcoming.

S. Kalka appealed to the entire Sikh Panth to participate in large numbers in these historic events from November 23 to 25 and make the remembrance of the Guru’s supreme sacrifice truly memorable
