On eve of Republic Day, MHA announces names of Punjab Police officials for PMG, PPMDS, PMMS awards
CHANDIGARH, January 25:
Recognising the outstanding services of the Punjab Police, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India (GOI), on the eve of 72nd Republic Day announced the names of the Punjab Police officers/officials, to be awarded with Police Medal of Gallantry (PMG), President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPMDS) and Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PMMS).
Three officers/officials from Punjab Police’s Organised Crime Control Unit (OCCU) including DSP Intelligence Punjab Bikramjit Singh Brar, ASI Sukhwinder Kumar and HC Parwinder Singh have been awarded with Police Medal for Gallantry.
While, ADGP Prisons Punjab Praveen Kumar Sinha and IGP Financial Investigation Unit (FIU) Ananya Gautam to be conferred with President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
On the other side, an IPS officer Commissioner of Police Ludhiana Rakesh Agrawal and four PPS officers including SSP Vigilance Bureau Ludhiana Rupinder Singh, SP Headquarters SBS Nagar Manvinderbir Singh, DSP Bassi Pathana Sukhminder Singh Chauhan and DSP Punjab Police Academy Phillaur Ashok Kumar among 16 police officers/officials have been selected for the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Remaining officials includes Inspector Prabhjit Kumar, Inspector Kulwant Singh, SI Som Nath, SI Nirmal Singh, SI Avtar Singh, SI Sukhjit Singh, ASI Jaspal Singh, ASI Parminder Kumar, ASI Daljit Singh, ASI Shinder Pal and ASI Anil Kumar.
Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Dinkar Gupta, while congratulating the awardees expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Home Affairs GOI for recognising the services of these officers and boosting the morale of the entire Punjab Police force. He said that such recognitions play a significant role in encouraging the Police force to work with more dedication and devotion.
