Mohali, February 2: Led by local sitting Congress MLA and Punjab Health and Family Minister, Balbir Singh Sidhu, all Congress candidates for 50 wards of Mohali Municipal Corporation elections including Amarjeet Singh Jeeti Sidhu filed their nomination papers on Tuesday.
Jeeti is contesting the poll from ward number 10. The candidates from ward no 1 to 25 filed their nominations at SDM office, Mohali and whereas candidates from ward no 26 to 50 filed nominations at Mandi Board office, Mohali.
Talking to the media during the occasion, Balbir Sidhu said that we will fight the poll on development works carried out by Congress government in Mohali in the last four years.
Talking about state government works that are being carried out in Mohali, Sidhu said that a medical college and a modern community centre in Phase 3B1 would be set up at a cost of Rs 14 crore and Rs 6.38 crore, respectively. The work on replacing the damaged sewer system had also been started at a cost of Rs 22 crore, he said.
Sidhu further informed that 5 new booster sets would be installed in the city to improve the water supply. To curb stray cattle menace, a gaushala would be set up at Balongi village, he said.
