Chandigarh/Garhshankar, May 11:
Development works received a major boost today in village Moranwali of Garhshankar constituency under the leadership of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker S. Jai Krishan Singh Rouri as today he inaugurated a new road to be constructed in the village. On this occasion, villagers and local residents welcomed Deputy Speaker Rouri and appreciated his efforts for the development of the village.
Addressing the gathering during the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Speaker S. Jai Krishan Singh Rouri said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, is fully committed to the overall development of villages. He stated that continuous funds are being released for the development of roads, streets, drinking water facilities, sewerage systems, playgrounds and other basic amenities in villages so that people can avail facilities similar to those in cities while living in rural areas.
Deputy Speaker Rouri said that the road to be constructed in village Moranwali would prove highly beneficial for the people. He explained that the new road would make transportation easier and provide relief from several problems faced by residents. He added that during the rainy season, villagers had to face great difficulty in commuting and this long-pending demand of the people has now been fulfilled on a priority basis.
S. Rouri said that he is working day and night for the development of every village in the Garhshankar constituency and that people’s problems are being resolved on a priority basis. He added that no shortage in development works will be allowed and every village will be connected with the mainstream of development.
Deputy Speaker Rouri also said that the Punjab Government is prioritizing public welfare policies and working extensively to strengthen education, healthcare, electricity, water supply and infrastructure. He stated that as a government of the common people, the welfare of every section of society is being ensured.
Meanwhile, the villagers once again thanked Deputy Speaker S. Rouri and said that the ongoing development works in the village are directly benefiting the people and transforming the area’s appearance.
Village panchs, sarpanchs, numberdars, local residents, local leaders, and a large number of villagers were present on the occasion.
