-Providing prompt and transparent services is top priority of Punjab Government: Dr. Preeti Yadav
Patiala, August 25:
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav today carried out a surprise inspection of the Tehsildar Office at Patiala to review the functioning of the office and assess the quality of services being delivered to the public. During the visit, she interacted directly with people who had come for their work and also gathered their feedback to further improve efficiency and transparency.
While reviewing the functioning of the revenue courts, Dr. Preeti Yadav instructed officers to ensure the time-bound disposal of all pending cases, especially those related to land partition, demarcation, measurement, khasra girdawari, numbering, and chowkidari. She made it clear that unnecessary delays will not be tolerated, and strict action will be initiated against officials who adjourn cases without valid reasons.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that Tehsildars and other revenue officers must hold courts on time, ensuring that people, particularly those traveling from far-off areas, do not face hardship. She added that as per the directions of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, regular inspections of government offices will continue to ensure transparent, accountable, and citizen-friendly governance. She also cautioned that officers or staff found negligent in their duties will face stern action.
During the inspection, Dr. Preeti Yadav personally ensured the on-the-spot redressal of several cases and directed immediate action on citizens’ applications. She also sought feedback from the public present at the office to make service delivery more transparent and efficient.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ms. Simarpreet Kaur and SDM Patiala Ms. Harjot Kaur accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the inspection.
