Corona’s biggest single day spike in Patiala 126 new positive cases detected

Jagdeep Chopra Patiala,July 31.The Royal City on Friday witnessed biggest a single day Spike of  dreaded Novel Corona Virus diseas  as 126 new positive cases were found and it came as a shocker for administration as out of these 50 reported from Patiala city now total of patients has touched to 1,739.The district Covid-19 Nodel Officer and Civil Surgeon, Dr. Harish Malhotra  while providing details about the same told here late this evening that today reports of 1,000 samples were received out of which 126 reported Corona positives. He said that 50 came from different areas of Patiala City, 22 from different areas of Rajpura City, 19 from Nabha, 6 each from Samana and Patran cities and 18 from different villages of this district.He added that 50 cases came from contact tracing of earlier patients, three cases of Inter state travellers and 48  with flu symptoms and department is busy shifting all of these new cases in different isolation , covid care facilities or home quarantine ‘s as per new guidelines issued by the government. He said that besides sanitization of respective areas, contact tracing etc. is on.He said that till a total of 45,000 samples have been taken out of these 1,739 found positives with 25 deaths, cured patients total also rose to 1,013 as 85 cured today and discharged and sent home. He said now 698 active cases are there. He said that today 824 new samples were collected and sent to Lab for testing with this now reports of 1,500 samples are pending.Dr. Malhotra  said that today being an anti- dengue day health department’s team surveyed 21,632 houses and found mosquitoes larva in 176 houses and the defaulters were issued notices and warning.
