Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday said that the state government is making strenuous efforts for making Punjab a debt free state, progressive and prosperous state.
Addressing the gathering during Sarkar Vyapaar Milni here on Monday, the Chief Minister said that the state has inherited a debt due to misdeeds of the previous governments. However, he said that his government will make all out efforts to bail out the state from these crisis for which concerted efforts are being made. Bhagwant Singh Mann said the budget of two years reflect good things unfolding in state in terms of enhanced revenue collection adding that this tempo will continue in coming days too.
The Chief Minister said that Punjab is witnessing these type of functions for the first time. He said that earlier only political mudslinging was done in events but now celebration of happiness is being made in such functions. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that for the first time traders have become integral part in decision making to put state in path of high trajectory.
The Chief Minister said that today new schools, hospitals are being coming up, free power is given to 90% households, jobs have been given to more than 43000 jobs and others due to the good intentions of the government. He said that this was lacking during the earlier regimes due to which the state has lagged behind in the progress. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now the state government is exposing the ugly face of the previous regimes.
The Chief Minister said that these leaders are opportunists who switch the sides just because of their vested interests. He said that these leaders have single agenda of setting their families in the arena of the public life but these people have been time and again rejected by people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the greed of power of these leaders is never satiated and they vie for it on pretext or other.
The chief minister said that these leaders neither have vision nor intention to serve the people adding that their sole motive is to plunder the wealth of state. He said that industry wants infrastructure and we want jobs for youth and tax for the welfare of the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this circle is the basis of the industrial policy of the state government due to which they are holding these meets with traders and industrialists.

Bhagwant Singh Mann said that due to this reason only the residents of the state have trounced these leaders.
The Chief Minister said that during the previous regimes people were so scared of success as the leaders used to put share in their ventures. He said that these leaders looted the masses and their hands were soaked with the blood of Punjab and Punjabis. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that but now the government of common people is there in the state which is giving chance to every individual to succeed in life.
The Chief Minister said that the traditional parties are envy of him because he hails from a common family. Bhagwant Mann said that these leaders who believed that they have divine right to rule the state due to which they are not able to digest that a common man is running the state efficiently. He said that these leaders have befooled the people since long but now people are not getting swayed by their misleading propaganda.
The Chief Minister said that these leaders are a new variant of unemployed people who have ousted by the people because of their non performance. He said that these leaders are envious of him because he hails from a common family adding that these leaders had always believed that they have divine right to rule the state due to which they are not able to digest that a common man is running the state efficiently.
The Chief Minister said that the budget of this year is roadmap for a progressive and vibrant Punjab as the people of state have ousted the political parties that used to play musical chairs of power to loot them after every five years. He said that his government has been given chance by people to serve them and they will work hard to fulfil their expectations. Bhagwant Singh Mann asked the opposition to shun criticism for the sake of criticism and allow them to work for well being of Punjab.
The Chief Minister said that the credit of transforming the politics and bringing common man on the agenda of the political parties goes to Arvind Kejriwal. He said that instead of Sankalp Pattars or election manifestos, the political parties are now giving guarantees of welfare to the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he had always been a votary of making the manifesto of any party into a legal document so that political parties may not dupe the common man.
The Chief Minister said that with the coming elections the political leaders have started offering sop to the masses adding that reduction in price of LPG by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a reflection of it. He said that for years they had mercilessly enhanced the price of essential goods but now they are trying to befool the common man by reducing the price meagerly. Bhagwant Singh Mann called upon the people not to get swayed away by these theatrics as such leaders have dubious character and they just try to fool the common man by such actions.
The Chief Minister said that every single penny from the state exchequer is being spent on the well being of the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann called upon people to ensure victory of the party on all the 13 Lok Sabha seats so that he can effectively combat the discriminatory policies of the Union government. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the hands of AAP needs to strengthen by giving 13-0 to the parties adding that these 13 MPs, when elected, will give fillip to the development and progress of the state.
On the occasion the Chief Minister said that the E bus service launched in Patiala city will go a long way in ushering a new era of progress and prosperity in the city. He said that these buses will ply from the old bus stand in the city and will facilitate the people in a big way. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this will pave way for unprecedented development and prosperity in the city by boosting trade and commerce.
