Cheema (Sangrur)/Sardulgarh (Mansa), February 18-

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday conducted a surprise inspection of the newly constructed Sub Tehsil complex and Hospital at Cheema (Sangrur) and Tehsil Complex at Sardulgarh (Mansa) to take stock of the citizen centric services being delivered at the grass-root level.

The Chief Minister reached the Sub Tehsil complex in the afternoon and interacted with the people, who lauded the Chief Minister and his government for ensuring delivery of foolproof services to them. He said that the feedback of people is of immense importance for efficient working of the state government. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he has visited the complex for the well being of people and to ensure that their works are being done in a smooth and hassle free manner.

The Chief Minister said that this is not aimed at any sort of fault finding of officers but the motive is to further streamline the things in the government offices. He said that people of the state had seen this for the first time that a Chief Minister of state is visiting the government offices. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the aim is just to ensure the well being of the people of state by ensuring citizen centric services to them by all means.

The Chief Minister said that all the government officers must perform their duties honestly and meticulously to ensure that people do not face any sort of inconvenience during their visit to the government offices. He said that the state government’s top priority is to resolve people’s day-to-day office work promptly, ensuring hassle-free services. Meanwhile, Bhagwant Singh Mann also reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming mela in the memory of Sant Baba Attar Singh.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed for making foolproof arrangements to facilitate lakhs of pilgrims coming to the mela. He asked the officers to ensure that no stone is being left unturned for this noble cause. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he will personally keep a regular tab on the arrangements being done by the district administration in this regard.

The Chief Minister also inspected the ongoing work at the under construction hospital coming up in the area. He envisioned that the upcoming 20-bedded hospital will act as a catalyst in imparting quality health services to the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the ongoing work on this hospital will be completed by June 30, this year after which it will be dedicated to the masses.

Meanwhile at Sardulgarh, the Chief Minister said that the state government is making strenuous efforts to give facelift to the state by ensuring its holistic development. He said that the state government is laying major thrust on the development of health, education, power, employment and infrastructure development sectors adding that a comprehensive plan has been formulated to ensure that these core areas of immense public importance get a major fillip in the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that no stone is being left unturned for this noble cause aimed at making Punjab a frontrunner state in the country thereby ensuring prosperity of Punjabis.

The Chief Minister said that due to the concerted efforts of the state government the schools of Punjab are getting new buildings, roads are being constructed; youth are getting government jobs and overall development is being witnessed in every sector. He said that these thrust areas were hitherto ignored by the previous state governments due which Punjab has lagged behind in pace of development. However, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is the roadmap of Rangla Punjab, which is being carved out with the active support of the common man.

The Chief Minister who interacted with the people to get their feedback said that the appointment of regular Tehsildar in the tehsil will be done very soon. He also ordered the installation of high speed internet at the complex to speed up the working of the office. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these things are needed for further enhancing the efficiency and working of the government departments.

Replying to a query, the Chief Minister categorically said that the state government is fully with the Punjabis who have been recently deported from the USA. He said that the state government will provide them opportunities for rehabilitation so that they become active partners in socio-economic development of Punjab. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government has roped in the youth who have successfully set up their ventures, after facing the same sort of hardships and trauma, to motivate the deportees for starting a new life here.
