RS 3.09 CRORE RELEASED TO CLEAR PENDING WAGES

In a major relief to anganwadi workers and helpers, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday ordered immediate release of their pending salaries.
Chairing a meeting of the Social Security, Women and Child Development Department at his Office here, the Chief Minister released Rs 3.09 crore funds to clear the pending wages of Anganwadi workers and helpers and stressed that state government is committed for the welfare of all employees and the workers for inclusive development of the state.
The Chief Minister said that orders have been issued to immediately clear the pending salaries of the workers and helpers working in the three blocks run by the Punjab Bal Council namely Bathinda, Tarsikka (Amritsar) and Sidhwan Bet (Ludhiana) since October last year and an amount has also been released for the same.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister discussed the various issues pertaining to Anganwadi workers of the state with the concerned officials. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the role of Anganwadi workers is vital and the state government will take major decisions for their welfare in the coming days so that they do not face any hardship while rendering their services.
The Chief Minister also discussed the implementation of various welfare schemes and programs with the department officials. The meeting was attended by Social Security and Women and Child Development Minister Baljit Kaur and other officials.
