DESCRIBES THE DEATH AS A HUGE PERSONAL LOSS
VISITS RESIDENCE OF THE DECEASED ACTOR TO SHARE CONDOLENCE WITH BEREAVED FAMILY

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday mourned the sad and untimely death of noted Punjabi actor/ comedian Jaswinder Bhalla, who passed away at a private hospital here today morning after a prolonged illness.
The Chief Minister, who visited the residence of the deceased actor in the evening, shared his condolences with the bereaved family members. He described the demise of ace comedian as a colossal loss to the world of art, literature, culture and cinema in contemporary history of the state. Striking an emotional chord, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it was a huge personal loss for him adding that the void created with the death of Jaswinder Bhalla will not be easy to fill in near future.
The Chief Minister noted that Jaswinder Bhalla defied ill health for a long time to remain actively engaged in preserving and promoting Punjabi culture. He said that Jaswinder Bhalla experimented with new ideas in comedy, updated and refined existing forms of Punjabi Cinema with his majestic presence. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that till his last breath, the renowned comedian held the flag of Punjabi comedy, cinema and culture across the globe.
Describing Jaswinder Bhalla as a multi-facet personality and a true son of soil, the Chief Minister said that ace comedian through his rare sarcastic humor and wit made enormous contribution in sensitizing the general public especially at the grass roots level. He said that Jaswinder Bhalla being an icon for budding artists especially the humorists across the country has left an indelible imprint on the television and Punjabi film industry. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that through his relentless efforts Jaswinder Bhalla relieved the stressed minds in the present melancholic society through his healthy comedy which made him a household name.
The Chief Minister said that with the death of Jaswinder Bhalla an era of Punjabi comedy has come to an end adding that the noted comedian will be ever remembered by his fans. He said that Jaswinder Bhalla made an outstanding contribution for the promotion of Punjabi art and culture. Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, Bhagwant Singh Mann prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give courage to family members, friends, relatives and millions of his fans to bear this irreparable loss.
