Asks MC and Powercom to explore feasibility of supplying water of lake to households
Bathinda, December 27-
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today said that the lakes in the city will be given a facelift to emerge Bathinda as a tourist hub in the state in general and Malwa region in particular.
The Chief Minister held detailed parleys with the officers on Tuesday to review the development works in the city.
The Chief Minister said that the lakes in Bathinda will be rejuvenated by pumping in the necessary resources. He said that no stone will be left unturned for ensuring that Bathinda is emerged as a tourist hub in the state. Bhagwant Mann said that development of the city will be accorded top priority.
Acceding to demand raised by MLA Jagroop Singh, the Chief Minister gave green signal to construct new bus stand in the city. He said that this will help in solving the problem of traffic in the city. Bhagwant Mann said also asked the Municipal Corporation and POWERCOM to explore the feasibility for using the Lake number 1 as water tank for solving the problem of potable water supply in the city.
The Chief Minister further said that the state government is making strenuous efforts to make agriculture a profitable venture. He said that the state government is committed to bail out the farmers for the current crisis. Bhagwant Mann said that the state government is promoting alternative crops to supplement the income of the farmers.
The Chief Minister further said that the state government is committed for imparting quality education to the youth. He said that major thrust is being laid on transforming the schools in the state. Bhagwant Mann envisioned that the Government schools of state will produce the leaders and builders of nation in coming times.
