‘Sunbrave Strikers’ unveils official team jersey

With a vision to promote the emerging ‘Padel’ sport in the region and establish Chandigarh as India’s first padel sport capital, 23-year-old city based sports enthusiast and entrepreneur, Suryaveer Bali has unveiled the official team jersey of his newly launched Padel sports team ‘Sunbrave Strikers’.
The team jersey was unveiled in the presence of Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora, who attended the event as the chief guest.
Notably, Sunbrave Strikers has been formed by Suryaveer Bali to provide a platform for players from the Tricity region, with a total of 11 athletes set to represent the team in the upcoming Good Club Padel League (GCPL) 2025. The GCPL 2025 is scheduled to take place in Kaimbwala, Chandigarh, starting from April 25. A total of six teams, each comprising 11 members from Chandigarh, are participating in the league, with players joining from across the country, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, and other states.
Outlining his vision for padel sport, Suryaveer Bali, Founder of Sunbrave Strikers, said,“Padel is a relatively unknown sport in India and is currently at a nascent stage. However, it’s rapidly gaining traction, especially across urban centres, and is poised to become one of the country’s fastest-growing sports. With the aim of nurturing the sport and building a strong ecosystem in the Tricity region, we have formed Sunbrave Strikers. It will not only provide opportunities for young local talent but also help promote a sporting culture in the region.”
Bali shared that the Sunbrave Strikers marks an exciting new chapter in Indian racquet sports.
“With this initiative we want to build India’s first professional Padel ecosystem, starting with talent scouting, coaching, and world-class infrastructure. With private leagues like GCPL gaining traction, the sport is set to reach new heights in both popularity and professionalism,” underscored Bali.
Aman Arora congratulated Suryaveer Bali for his initiative to promote Padel sport in India and for empowering youth through sports.
Bali emphasized the involvement of local sports authorities and government bodies are necessary to support the growth of Padel in India. Furthermore, the formal recognition of Padel as a sport and the establishment of a national governing body would serve as key catalysts in laying a strong foundation for its development across the country. Private leagues like GCPL can also help in talent identification and creating an ecosystem.
When asked about the future of Padel over the next five years, Bali responded, “I envision the rise of corporate tournaments, college leagues, inter-school competitions, and state-level championships gaining momentum among the youth and driving greater awareness. The sport is set to reach new heights, both nationally and internationally, within the next three to five years as its popularity continues to grow.”
