Mann – You made an ordinary person a national level leader, I am campaigning in the whole country, now you take charge of Sangrur and send Meet Hayer to Parliament

I’m always working to take the prestige of Punjab to the new heights, slogans of ‘Jo Bole So Nihal’ resonate when I am in Gujarat: Bhagwant Mann

Sunam is my ‘karmabhoomi’, I still know people here by names, I do not even need to campaign here, I know that you will elect Meet Hayer with the record votes – Mann

Bhagwant Mann attacked Sukhpal Khaira – Khaira doesn’t know the first thing about Sangrur, its villages and the people here, do not let such a person win at any cost

Canal water is teaching 59 percent of the fields, it will be brought to 70 percent by October, then the government’s 5000 crore rupees will be saved, with that money we will give 1000 rupees every month to our mothers and sisters – Mann

This is the first government, which apart from fulfilling its promises, has done much more work than it promised during the election: Meet Hayer

Sunam/Chandigarh, May 6

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday campaigned for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer in Sunam. He addressed a huge public gathering here and appealed to the people to ensure Meet Hayer’s victory with record votes.

Addressing the people, Chief Minister Mann said that seeing your zeal and enthusiasm, I am reminded of 2014. At that time too, I was getting similar support. He said that in 2014, I won from here by 2 lakh 14 thousand votes, but this time you have to set a new record by ensuring Meet Hayer’s victory with a margin of at least 2.5 lakh votes.

Mann told the people of Sunam that Sunam is my ‘karmabhoomi’. I used to bring crops here in the mandi to sell. I went to college here in Sunam. I know many people here by name even today. This is also my Nanaka (maternal grandmother’s village). I used to eat matka kulfi here. I still remember Master ji’s book shop and Bengali doctor’s hospital. I don’t even need to campaign here. I am confident that the people of Sunam will only vote for the Aam Aadmi party.

Mann said that you gave such a big responsibility of the entire state to a simple son of a master from Satauj Village, I made my name in the nation’s politics because of you. I am always working to take the prestige of Punjab to new heights. Wherever I go in the country, the slogans of ‘Jo Bole So Nihal’ resonate because everyone knows that I am from Punjab.

Mann attacked the Congress candidate from Sangrur Sukhpal Singh Khaira and said that he does not even know the names of 10 villages of Sangrur and he has come to contest elections here. He takes the help of GPS to reach Sangrur. He appealed to the people not to let such a candidate win at any cost who does not even know about the people here.

Mann said that the development of the farmers of Punjab is our first priority. After becoming the Chief Minister, I called a meeting of the officers and said that farmers should be given electricity for 11 hours a day without cuts, so that their time and energy is not wasted.

Apart from this, we have delivered canal water to 59 percent of the fields in Punjab. When I became the Chief Minister in March 2022, canal water was reaching only 21 percent of the fields. By October, we will be delivering canal water to 70 percent of the fields, after which about 6 lakh tube wells in Punjab will become useless. Then the government will save about Rs 5000 to 6000 crore. From that money, we will give Rs. 1000 every month to our mothers and sisters. We are working to fulfill all our guarantees.

He said that we have done much more work than we promised during the 2022 elections. A newspaper has published a news story that due to the road safety force formed by the Punjab government, about 5800 people were saved from road accidents in Punjab in the last 90 days. Whereas earlier 30 to 35 people used to die in road accidents in Punjab every day.

He said that recently when I was going to Gujarat for an election campaign, I met a girl on the flight from Chandigarh to Delhi. She thanked me and said that I have been recruited as a Patwari a few days ago. My training period is going on right now but your government have decided that employees will get salary even during training. I had promised my family members that when I get a government job, then with the money of the first salary, I will take all the members of my family including my grandmother to Delhi by flight. Today, thanks to you, this dream of mine has been fulfilled. He said that his meeting with the girl made him happy, proud and emotional at the same time.

Mann also attacked the Badal family and said that all the members of the Badal family have lost the elections. Only Harsimrat Kaur Badal is left. In this election, Harsimrat Kaur’s security deposit is going to be forfeited from Bathinda. After that, all the members of the Badal family will be out of power, they can sit together without blaming each other for the loss.

Addressing the public meeting, AAP candidate Meet Hayer said that this is the first government of Punjab which has done more work than what it promised to the people during the election campaign. The Mann government appointed a road safety force and it wasn’t even one of our guarantees. We bought a private thermal power plant, brought canal water to every corner of Punjab and did many works like giving electricity to farmers during the day. Whereas the political parties in the previous governments were not able to fulfill even 5% of the promises they made to the people. On this occasion,Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, MLA Aman Arora, MLA Muhammad Jameel Ur Rehman and other officials were also present.
