Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann campaigned for Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Hoshiarpur candidate Dr Rajkumar Chabbewal. He conducted a massive roadshow in Urmur Tanda with the AAP candidate here and appealed to the people to make Dr Chabbewal win.
Addressing the people during the roadshow, Bhagwant Mann said that we do not need to say anything in the campaign now. People themselves start recounting our work. Your zero electricity bill speaks for themselves. Aam Aadmi Clinic, Canal water etc. tells you the story of our government’s work. Mann appealed to the people to make the AAP win by 13-0 this time, “I will work for the development of Punjab with double zeal,” promised the CM.
He said that I want to change your compulsion with your choice. Today, it is your compulsion to educate your children in private schools and get treatment in private hospitals because you do not trust government schools and hospitals yet. In the coming days, I will make government schools and hospitals so good that choosing between private or government schools and hospitals will be your choice, not compulsion.
Mann attacked the BJP and said that the BJP wants to destroy Baba Saheb’s constitution and end democracy in the country. It is very important to defeat them (BJP). At the same time, our government is making Baba Saheb’s dreams come true. We are building good government schools for the children of the poor and Dalits and are improving government hospitals for their treatment.
On sugarcane farmers, Mann said that sugarcane is cultivated in large quantities in Hoshiarpur and surrounding areas. I assure sugarcane farmers that do not worry, you will get a fair price for your sugarcane. I will also ensure that you get your dues from private sugar mills. He said that for the support of sugarcane farmers, we increased the MSP of sugarcane. Today, the MSP of sugarcane in Punjab is the highest in the country.
At the same time, we are working day and night to save the water of Punjab. We have provided canal water to 59 percent of the farms in Punjab. When I became the Chief Minister in March 2022, only 21 percent of the farms were getting canal water. By October, we will provide canal water to 70 percent of the farms, after which about 6 lakh tube wells in Punjab will become useless. Then the government will save about 5000 to 6000 crore rupees. With that money, we will give Rs 1000 every month to our mothers and sisters.
