Chandigarh, January 15
UT reported 26 new cases of coronavirus on Friday even as the city is all geared up for the national launch of the COVID-19 vaccine by the Prime Minister. All the session sites for vaccination have been prepared as per the GOI guidelines and the vaccination officers trained accordingly. There would also be a two-way video conferencing facility at these vaccination sites .
The vaccine has been received by the Health Department as per the number of HCW to be vaccinated in the first phase. Messages are being sent to all the beneficiaries who are going to be vaccinated tomorrow. The Health Department has issued instructions that no vaccination site will be closed till the last beneficiary reporting is given the dose. The Health Department employees feels privileged and honoured of being given the opportunity to be vaccinated first among all fellow citizens.
The UT now has 266 active cases of coronavirus.
