Chandigarh, March 28
UT recorded three more deaths on Sunday due to coronavirus as pandemic spread to more areas in the city. The UT recorded 296 fresh cases of the infection during the past 24 hours. The number of active cases climbed to 2633.
The death toll in Chandigarh now stands at 377 while the total caseload has increased to 26, 194.
According to a media bulletin issued here by the Administration, a 68-year-old COVID positive Male R/o Sector 25, a case of Chronic Liver Disease with Hepatitis B, has expired at GMSH 16. The second death case relates to a 54-year-old COVID positive Male R/o Sector 14, a case of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, who expired at PGIMER. • A 64-year-old COVID positive Male R/o Sector 12, a case of Diabetes, Hypertension and Chronic Kidney Disease has also expired at PGIMER.
The new cases of coronavirus have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 192 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines
