Chandigarh, August 26
In order to recognise the immense contribution of teachers in the electoral process, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Punjab has decided to commemorate Teacher’s Day in a befitting manner.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson said that a special event has been planned whereby all 22 districts of Punjab shall hold a contest, to be open to all teaching staff from schools, colleges, ITIs, Polytechnics of government as well as government aided institutes, who have worked as Presiding Officers/Polling Officers/Block Level Officers/ Supervisors/Master Trainers etc. during elections in the past or are currently rendering their services in the electoral process. Entries are solicited for a write-up not exceeding 500 words on any of three topics
1. “Experiences during Elections”,
2. “Suggestions for making election duty more pleasant”,
3.“Challenges during elections duty amid COVID-19”
spokesperson said that best entry from each of the 22 districts will be given a certificate and the top three entries from the selected 22 best entries from all the districts shall be given a cash prize and a certificate each. State level winners will also be honored during the National Voter’s Day on 25th January.
He further said that participants shall submit their entries to district SVEEP Nodal Officers by Aug.31, 2020.
