Chandigarh, August 26: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday mourned the death of Sharda Shukla, the mother of senior journalist Ajay Shukla.
Sharda Shukla (66), wife of retired IPS Officer of UP Police, breathed her last, after brief illness, at Lucknow’s Apollo Hospital this afternoon. She is survived by her husband, three sons and a daughter.
Captain Amarinder extended his sympathies to Ajay Shukla, Chief Editor, Aaj Samaj and India News and prayed for the bereaved family. May God give them the strength to bear this loss, he said, in his condolence message.
Raveen Thukral, Media Advisor to CM, also expressed his heartfelt condolences to Ajay Shukla and other family members in this hour of grief. The loss of a mother was a heart-wrenching experience and could not be compensated, he added.
