- On world tourism day, vows to put Punjab on map of global tourism
Chandigarh, September 27:
Newly appointed Cabinet Minister for Tourism and Cultural affairs, Investment Promotion, Labour, Industries and Rural Development & Panchayats Mr. Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Friday assumed the charge of office in presence of his family.
Accompanied by his father Mr. Bhupinder Singh Sond, mother Sukhwinder Kaur and wife Kamalpreet Kaur, the Minister assumed office after performing Ardaas. Both his children Navraj Singh, Jaskirat Kaur and elder brother Ramanjeet Singh Sond were also present.
After assuming the charge, the Minister said that he was fortunate that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and party had bestowed this responsibility on him. Mr. Sond said that he will discharge the service with full dedication, honesty and responsibility to serve Punjab and Punjabis. He said that every effort will be made to give impetus to the progress of the state and prosperity of its people.
The Minister said that he will serve the state and its people will full zeal and dedication. He said that the state government is already making strenuous efforts to carve out a Rangla Punjab adding that no stone is being left unturned for this noble chase. Mr. Sond said that Punjab government has started several pro-people and development oriented schemes, the benefits of which will be percolated to people at grass-root level.
The Minister said that he will make concerted efforts to give boost to tourism sector in the state adding that new initiatives will be taken showcase rich historical, cultural and religious heritage of state across the globe. He said that Punjabi cuisine, hospitality and natural beauty is known world over adding that these can attract tourist from across the globe.
Likewise, Mr. Sond said that Punjab had already emerged as favourite investment destination in the country adding that industrial development will be given boost for creating new jobs for youth and for accelerating growth of state.
