19 Crore to be Spent on Road Development in Ghanaur: Dr. Balbir Singh

Cabinet Minister Dr. Balbir Singh visited Village Sarala Kalan and nearby villages in the Rajpura subdivision today. He inspected the damaged roads, which were affected by heavy traffic. During his visit, he directed officials from the Public Works Department (PWD), Punjab Mandi Board, Panchayati Raj, and BML to complete the repair work on roads and bridges under their jurisdiction within a week.
While interacting with the residents of Sarala Kalan, Dr. Balbir Singh stated that under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s initiative, “AAP di Sarkar Aap de Dwar”, he had personally reached out to villagers to address their concerns. On-the-spot instructions were issued to concerned officials for the immediate resolution of the residents’ issues.
Dr. Balbir Singh instructed the Panchayat Department to deepen the village pond in Sarala Kalan and directed PWD to repair the road connecting Sarala Khurd to Sarala Kalan. Additionally, he directed BML officials to strengthen the Sarala Head Bridge immediately. He announced that the newly constructed bridge in Sarala Kalan would become operational within two days, resolving traffic issues in the area.
Dr. Balbir Singh stated that Rs. 6.28 crores will be spent on the 5.44 km road from Untsar to Lohsimbli. Approximately Rs. 12 crores will be allocated to the 17.50 km stretch from Kapuri to Lohsimbli. Rs.1.15 crores will be used to construct the 1.13 km link road connecting Sarala Kalan to the Haryana border.
Additionally, Dr. Balbir Singh directed the PWD to repaint faded road markings urgently, citing the increased risk of road accidents during foggy weather due to the absence of visible white lines. He instructed that roads lacking proper markings should be addressed immediately.
On the occasion SP Rajesh Chhibber, SDM Rajpura Avikesh Gupta, SDM Dudhansadhan Kripalbir Singh, Executive Engineer Navin Mittal, DDPO Shavinder Singh, and officials from various departments also present.
