Mansa, 13 August: Mansa Police is nabbing drug peddlers on a regular basis under the leadership of SSP Mansa, S. Surendra Lamba IPS and under the supervision of S. Digvijay Kapil, PPS,SP (investigation). In this series, the Mansa police team got a big achievement in campaign against drugs by arresting Gurdeep Singh S/o Gurmail Singh R/o Nangal Kalan and Rakesh Kumar S/o Jagdish Rai R/o Ward No: 22, Mansa with 1,30,750 Intoxicant Pills (82800 Etizolam + 47950 Clovidol). Further Investigation is going on under S. Digvijay Kapil, PPS, SP Investigation Mansa and more results are expected.
SSP Mansa, Sh. Surendra Lamba, IPS told press that Police Party of Police Station Sadar Mansa was on routine patrol duty and when police party reached near village Nangal Khurd, on suspicion the police party nabbed Gurdeep Singh S/o Gurmail Singh R/o Nangal Kalan along with motorcycle and 640 intoxicant pills (Clovidol SR-100) were recovered. On the initial investigation accused disclosed that he bought these pills from Rakesh Kumar S/o Jagdish Rai R/o Ward No: 22 Mansa (Vijay Medical Hall). On this account Sadar Mansa Police station registered FIR No: 347 dated 12-08-2020 u/S 22,25,27A,29/61/85 NDPS Act and 18 Drugs and Cosmetic Act-1940 Police Station Sadar Mansa against these accused.
SI Angrej Singh SHO Sadar Mansa conducted raid as per rules under supervision of Sh. Harjinder Singh, DSP Mansa accompanied by Sh. Sheeshan Kumar, Drug Control Officer Mansa at accused Rakesh Kumar’s Medical Hall (Vijay Medical Hall) and 310 Intoxicant Pills Clovidol- SR-100 were recovered. On the confession of accused Rakesh Kumar Police party recovered 82800 Intoxicant Pills (Mark Etizolam) and 47000 Intoxicant Pills (Mark Clovidol SR-100) from their Godown. Both accused are habitual offenders. Accused Rakesh Kumar is already involved in FIR No: 66dated 07-08-2017 u/s 22/61/85 NDPS Ps City-1 Mansa and other accused Gurdeep Singh is also involved FIR No: 13 dated 10-01-2017 u/s 420 IPC, 3,4,5,6 PVT Act and 15(2),15(3) JMC Act PS City Barnala. Market Value of this recovered contraband is around 6 Lacs. Accused disclosed that this contraband would be sold in Rupees 17 lacs approx.
Police remand will be sought of these accused and deep interrogation will be conducted, so that forward and backward links are connected. SSP Mansa further added that the special campaign against drug smugglers will be continuing further. There will be zero tolerance against drugs smuggling in the district.
