FRAME POLICIES TO ATTRACT EMPLOYMENT GENERATING INDUSTRY, MANN DIRECTS INDUSTRIES DEPARTMENT

PROMPT INTER-DEPARTMENTAL CLEARANCES

Emphasizing of the need to create industry friendly atmosphere in the state, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday directed the Industry department to simplify procedure for inter-departmental clearances in order to further strengthen single window system of providing No Objection Certificates (NoCs) to the industry besides framing policies to attract employment generating industry.
Chairing a review meeting of the Industries and Commerce department, Mann said that the Aam Aadmi Party government’s efforts to create corruption free and people friendly environment in the state would give further phillip to the industrial growth in the state. “The industry will soon start witnessing a promising future in the state but we want to focus on attracting employment generating industry to create enormous employment opportunities for our youth”, said Mann while directing the industry department to come up with a policy attracting such industry.
Reviewing the single window system of providing NoCs to new industry, Chief Minister made some important observations to further improve the system and asked the department to bring innovative changes in it to make it to ensure efficient, transparent and hassle free services for the investors. “Success speaks for itself, let the industrialist praise the state for its policies and initiatives”, said the Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, Tejveer Singh, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce apprised the Chief Minister regarding present growth rate of industry in the state, incentives provided to this sector and the major challenges being faced.
Prominent amongst others, A Venu Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary to CM, Rajat Agarwal, CEO, Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, Sibin C, Director, Industries and Commerce were also present in the meeting.
