Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday campaigned for AAP candidate Gurmeet Singh Khuddian from Bathinda. He conducted a big road show in Bathinda with the AAP candidate and appealed to the people to press the ‘jharoo’ button and make Gurmeet Khuddian win.
While addressing the people, Arvind Kejriwal targeted Akali Dal candidate Harsimrat Kaur Badal and told the people that the mistake of last time should not be repeated this time. Last time you made Harsimrat Kaur Badal win, but she was never seen on the ground. On the other hand, Gurmeet Khuddian is your own. He will be among you 24 hours a day and will work for you.
Kejriwal said that this election is an election to save the democracy and constitution of the country. This is an election to end dictatorship. He said that during the farmers’ movement in 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not allow the farmers of Punjab to enter Delhi. This time you press such a button that Modi is out of power in Delhi. In this election, you take revenge for the farmers’ agitation from Narendra Modi.
Kejriwal said that right now Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has to fight alone with the central government and the governor. So strengthen Bhagwant Mann’s hands by getting 13 MPs of the AAP elected. Then no one will be able to stop Punjab’s funds and even the governor will not be able to stop any bills of Punjab. Right now the central government is withholding about eight and a half thousand crore rupees of Punjab. Roads and other development works were to be done in the villages of Punjab with that money. If we have 13 MPs, they will fight with the central government and bring Punjab’s funds.
Kejriwal said that in 2022 you elected the honest government of the Aam Aadmi Party. As a result of it today Punjab is getting free and 24-hour electricity. Today 83 percent of the people of Punjab are getting zero electricity bills. Mohalla clinics are being built at various places and the condition of government hospitals is improving. Schools of Eminence are being built for good education. About 50 thousand youth got government jobs and thousands of temporary employees were regularised.
Kejriwal said that during the 2022 assembly elections, when we used to tell people that we will reduce your electricity bills to zero, people did not believe it, but we made it possible. This is happening only in two states of the country, Delhi and Punjab, and in both places, the Aam Aadmi Party is in power. All this is happening because our intentions are clear and we work honestly.
Kejriwal said that the BJP is saying that give us 400 seats, Modi ji is going to do something big. When I inquired, I came to know that he is asking for 400 seats so that he can change the constitution of the country and will end the reservation given to the backward and scheduled castes by the constitution. He said that this has been the aim of the RSS and its associated organizations from the beginning. So this time we have to vote to save the democracy and constitution of the country.
