In a daring act, six armed robbers barged into the office of private finance company on Dugri road and robbed gold worth Rs 14 crores and cash. With the bravery of Muthoot company employees and alert residents, the robbery bid was foiled and three accused were caught on the road. However three robbers managed to escape. The robbers fired ten gunshots in which three person suffered bullet injuries and one person’s body part was fractured. The Police said that the bag containing gold was recovered from the robbers and another bag containing approximately one lakh was in possession of absconding accused.
At around 10 Am, the robbers entered in office of Muthoot finance company on first floor of complex on Dugri road. On Gunpoint, the robbers collected gold from the office of company. The company use to give loan to people against gold. While leaving from the spot, the accused fired ten gun shots. The security guard of the company and alert residents tried to nab the accused but they fired gunshots. Three robbers on one motorcycle was leaving but the people over powered them. In a meantime, the cops taken the accused in custody.
The incident was captured in CCTV cameras and the videos went viral on social media.
Commissioner of Police said that the accused belonged to Bihar and came to Ludhiana for robbery incident. The accused were facing charges of robbery in central bank in Bihar and was declared Proclaimed offender by the court. CP said that the employees use to mark their online attendance but today they were not able to mark attendance due to robbery. As the attendance didn’t reached head office of company in Delhi, the staff of head office checked CCTV cameras and informed Police control room. The cops immediately reached the spot and with the efforts of cops, security guard and alert residents the three robbers were arrested.
The Police have recovered pistols, cartridges and motorcycles of the accused. Various teams were formed for the arrest of absconding accused.
