Both individuals tragically swept away during recent intense rainfall
Chandigarh, August 16:
Punjab Cabinet Minister Ms. Anmol Gagan Maan, today handed over cheques amounting to Rs.4 lakh each to the families of the deceased Harmeet Singh of Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar, Kharar and Harpreet Singh of Bhagomajra.
Notably, Harmeet Singh and Harpreet Singh journeyed from Kharar to Mullanpur Garibdas for business purposes on July 10, 2023. While returning, their vehicle was swept away during flooding in the Patiala-ki-Rao river. Their bodies were discovered near Togan and Manana villages on July 12.
Ms. Anmol Gagan Maan expressed her heartfelt condolences to the grieving families, while acknowledging that the immeasurable loss they’ve endured cannot be fully compensated, but she assured them of every possible help. She noted that this season’s heavy rains have led to significant loss of life and property. The Cabinet Minister emphasized that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led state government is committed to alleviate the suffering and provide compensation.
