PSPCL has been brought into a profit of Rs 900 crore – Power Minister
Chakk Tarawala/Dagru (Moga), August 14 (000) – Punjab Power Minister Harbhajan Singh claimed that due to the pro-people policies of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, 90% of the consumers in the state are enjoying free electricity. He specially reached village Chakk Tarawala in Dharamkot constituency to lay the foundation stone of 66 KV sub-station and building of sub-divisional office at village Dagru.
Addressing various gatherings, Harbhajan Singh said that the Punjab Government is working day and night to fulfill its election promises. Punjab is the only state in the country where consumers are getting 600 units of free electricity without any discrimination. First time, a private thermal plant has been purchased by any government. The coal mine (Jharkhand) which was closed since 2015 has been restarted, which has benefited Punjab by Rs 1200 crore annually. He said that when their government came to power, the Electricity Board PSPCL was in a loss of Rs 1888 crore, which is now in a profit of Rs 900 crore.
Earlier, he laid the foundation stone of 66 KV sub-station at village Chakk Tarawala. The new 66 KV sub-station Tarawala under the sub-division Bhinder Kalan will benefit many villages. This grid will be completed in 9 months.
Similarly, the building of sub-divisional office Dagru is being built at a cost of around Rs 1 crore. This building will also be completed in 4 months.
During the gatherings, MLA from Dharamkot constituency Devinderjeet Singh Laddi Dhons and MLA from Moga constituency Dr. Amandeep Kaur Arora made the Power Minister aware of the needs of their area and also thanked the Punjab Government and the Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh.
Present on the occasion were Chairman of District Planning Board Harmandeep Singh Barar, Chairman of Improvement Trust Deepak Arora, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Moga Baljit Singh Channi, Chairman of Market Committee Moga Harjinder Singh Rode and other prominent personalities.
