Chandigarh, August 11
UT reported one more death and 75 fresh cases of coronavirus during the past 24 hours. With this, the death toll has risen to 27 while the tally of those infected with the deadly disease has climbed to 1670. The figure includes 628 active cases.
According to a medical bulletin released by the health authorities, an 81 years old female resident of Sector 43 tested as COVID positive in PGI on Monday has expired in PGI yesterday. She had a previous history of heart disease and stenting. She had come to PGI for treatment of her heart ailment.
The new cases of coronavirus have been reported from various localities in the city and the villages surrounding it.
Eleven persons have been cured and discharged from hospitals.
