Chandigarh, May 27
The declining trend in new corona cases in UT continued on Thursday with the city recording 200 new cases but the mortality remained high. As many as seven persons succumbed to the virus, taking the toll to 729.
The caseload in Chandigarh has increased to 59416. There are 3129 active cases of the pandemic.
According to a media bulletin issued by the Administration, those who succumbed to the infection were aged between 45 and 86 years. The new cases of the virus have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 637 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
