7 deaths,160 new COVID cases reported in Patiala district

Patiala , 07 Sep 2020-  Even as health department here claim to achieve above 80 percent recovery rate while dealing with checking of dreaded Novel Corona Virus disease in Patiala district but on Monday seven more Corona deaths were reported taking total number of deaths to 201 besides with reporting of 160 new positive cases total number of Corona patients also gone upto 7,292.Whereas under the ongoing “Mission Fateh” today 161 more patients were discharged and sent home after completly curing from the disease and with this total number of cured patients also rose to 5,797. On the other hand total of active cases also touched figure of 1,294.The Civil Surgeon,  Dr. Harish Malhotra while providing detailed break up here late this evening told that today reports of 2,550 samples were received out of these found 160 new positive cases. He said that out of these 160 new positive cases 106 were found from Patiala City, Nine from Nabha, seven from Samana, six from Rajpura and 32 from different villages. He said that the shifting and contact tracing of all these new positive cases is going on as per new guidelines issued by the state government.He said seven deaths were also reported today out of these four concerned with Patiala City, one each respectively with Rajpura, Samana and Sanour and their Last rites were also got performed strictly as per the guidelines of Covid-19 issued by the government.Dr. Malhotra  further told that today reviewing the situation as no fresh cases were reported from these areas so the department has ordered to take back micro containment restriction from Gobind Bagh in Patiala and Jaspal Colony in Nabha.He said that till a total of 99,433 samples have been taken and tested in the Lab in the district out of these 7,292 found positive.He added that today 3,200 samples were collected and sent to Lab for testing, whereas results of 1,700 samples are still pending.
