Chandigarh, May 29
New cases of coronavirus in Chandigarh continued to maintain their downward trend with the city recording 163 cases on Saturday. Five more people succumbed to the infection during the same period. There are 2466 active cases of the pandemic.
With this, the death toll in Chandigarh has risen to 740 while caseload has increased to 59740.
According to a media bulletin issued here, those who died due to Covid were aged between 50 and 85 years. Fresh cases of coronavirus have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 450 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines
