Devotees urged to participate in large numbers in the Nagar Kirtans

Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond announced today that the Punjab Government will commemorate the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji with utmost reverence and on a grand scale. To ensure the smooth conduct and success of these celebrations, the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs has been designated as the nodal department.
Sharing details of the four Nagar Kirtans, which will commence from November 19, Sond urged the Sangat (devotees) to participate wholeheartedly in these spiritual processions that will culminate at Sri Anandpur Sahib.
He informed that the main Nagar Kirtan will begin on November 19 from Srinagar, passing through Jammu, Pathankot, Dasuya, Hoshiarpur, Mahilpur, and Garhshankar, and will reach Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22. The halts will be at Jammu (Nov 19), Pathankot (Nov 20), and Hoshiarpur (Nov 21). The total route will cover a distance of 544 kilometers.
The Majha-Dooaba route will start on November 20 from Gurdaspur, covering Batala, Baba Bakala, Sri Amritsar Sahib, Tarn Taran, Goindwal Sahib, Kapurthala, Kartarpur, Jalandhar, Banga, and Balachaur, before reaching Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22. The Nagar Kirtan will halt at Sri Amritsar Sahib (Nov 20) and Jalandhar (Nov 21), covering a total distance of 345 kilometers.
The Malwa–1 route will begin on November 20 from Faridkot, passing through Ferozepur, Moga, Jagraon, Ludhiana, Khanna, Sirhind, Fatehgarh Sahib, Morinda, Chamkaur Sahib, and Rupnagar, and will culminate at Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22. The halts are scheduled at Ludhiana (Nov 20) and Fatehgarh Sahib (Nov 21), covering a total of 320 kilometers.
The Malwa–2 route will commence on November 20 from Talwandi Sabo, passing through Bathinda, Barnala, Sangrur, Patiala, Rajpura, Banur, Mohali, Kurali, and Rupnagar, before reaching Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22. The Nagar Kirtan will halt at Patiala (Nov 20) and Mohali (Nov 21), covering a total distance of 354 kilometers.
Sond further stated that district-level meetings are being held regularly to ensure smooth coordination for these Nagar Kirtans and other commemorative events.
He added that the Punjab Government has constituted a Ministerial Committee for the success of the celebrations, comprising Harjot Singh Bains, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Harbhajan Singh ETO, and Advisor Deepak Bali.
