Patiala,September 18.Patiala district on Friday got some kind of relief from the attack of dreaded Novel Corona Virus disease’s spread as only Five more deaths were reported with this till 275 people have lost their lives in the district with Corona, besides 200 new positive cases were also reported taking total tally of Corona patients to 9,962 in the district.Whereas 206 more patients today also won their war against Corona and as they fully cured from the disease so got discharged and sent home from isolation facility and Covid care centers with this total tally of cured and discharged patients also gone upto 7,549. On the other hand total number of active cases in the district also touched to figure of 2, 138.The Civil Surgeon, Dr. Harish Malhotra while giving details about it late this evening further told that today reports of 2,700 samples received out of these 200 new positive cases were detected. He said that these also includes four reports from Sangrur, three from SAS Nagar, Mohali and one each fro. Chandigarh and Ludhiana respectively.Providing break up of 20p new positive cases ,he told that out of these 80 reported from Patiala, 45 from Rajpura, 8 from Samana, 17 from Nabha, 11 each from block Bhadson and block Kauli, 5 from block Kalo Majra, 2 from block Harpalpur, 4 from block Dudhan Sadhan and 17 from block Shutrana.He said 46 cases found from contact tracing of earlier positive cases and 154 from containment zone areas and OPD’s with Flu Symptoms and the shifting of these new cases into isolation facilities, Covid care centers and home quarantine is under process strictly as per new COVID-19 guidelines issued by the government besides contact tracing and sanitization of respective areas also underway.While giving details about Five deaths reported today in the district, he added that out of these 2 reported from Patiala and one each respectively from Nabha, Samana and block Kauli and all these patients died in hospitals as under treatment for their Chronic diseases and got Corona infection. The last rites of all the dead have been got performed strictly under new COVID-19 guidelines issued by the government.He added that keeping in view pouring of new positive cases in numbers today new micro containment restriction is imposed in Village Manouli in Ghanour area and Street No. 8 of B block of Ghuman Nagar here and took total number of micro containment to 12 in the district.The Civil Surgeon added that being Friday it was observed as dry day to curb Dengue and Malaria and a total of 25, 496 houses were checked out of these from 188 houses mosquitos Larva was recovered and health department immediately issued the defaulters warning notices. He said that till today 12 cases of Dengue and one of Malaria were detected in the district.Dr. Malhotra further added that till 1, 29, 733 samples were collected and tested in Lab in the district out of these 1, 18, 071 found out be negative, 9,962 positives, 7,549 total cured, 275 deaths and 2,138 active cases. He said that today 2,400 new samples have been collected in the district and sent to Lab for testing, whereas reports of 1,400 samples are still pending.
