Patiala , Sep 08 Sep 2020.The spread of dreaded Novel Corona Virus disease is continue in Patiala district as on Tuesday eight more people lost their battle for life while under going treatment in hospitals with this total number of deaths have gone upto 209 and on the other side reporting of 183 new positive cases took total number of Corona patients upto the figure of 7,475.However in the ongoing “Mission Fateh” to contain Corona also tasted further success with curing of 168 more patients and with discharging of this batch total number of cured patients also gone upto 5,965. Whereas number of active cases in the district touching to 1,301.The Civil Surgeon, Dr. Harish Malhotra while giving details about the same late this evening here further told that today 1,900 reports of samples were received out of these 183 found positives and out of these 72 cases were reported from Patiala, 34 from Rajpura, 9 from Nabha, Six from Saman and 52 from different villages.He said that out of these 17 cases came from contact tracing of patients, 159 from containment zone areas and OPD’s with Flu Symptoms and their shifting and contact tracing is going on as per new guidelines about COVID-19 by the government.Talking about today’s deaths, he said that today eight more deaths were also reported out of these four belonged to Patiala 2 to Nabha and one each respectively to Rajpura & Samana. He said that out of these most of them were suffering from Chronic diseases like Sugar, High BP , Hyper tension etc and at last gave up during treatment and died and their Last rites were got performed strictly as per the guidelines of Covid-19.Dr. Malhotra further added that after assessing the over all situation it was found out that reporting of new cases from New Lal Bagh area in Patiala have gone down considerably because of which micro containment restriction from that area was removed today and on the other hand seeing an increase in new cases from Vikas Nagar area in Rajpura near to NTC School and Area around Sat Narayan temple was brought under micro -containment zone area.He said that today the district attain a milestone in testing of samples as till 1, 02,933 samples were collected and got tested in Lab out of these 92,408 found negative, 7,475 positive, 209 deaths and 5,965 cured patients. He said that out of this data it is found out that recovery rate in the district is above 80 percent and curing is going on fast track.He said that today 3,000 samples were collected and sent in Lab for testing purposes and reports of 2,800 samples are also still pending.The Civil Surgeon urged the people not to fall prey to the rumour mongers and come forward in large number for testing to defeat the threat of Corona spread as the state government especially the health department is there for their disposal and best care.
