On Sunday, 151 persons were tested positive for corona virus and nine died due to infection in Ludhiana district. The number of Covid19 patients were coming down as compared to previous cases. The active cases in the district have reached 1190. Today, the health department has collected the samples of 4198 suspected persons.
Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga informed that a total of 261062 samples have been taken till date, out of which report of 258884 samples has been received and report of 239289 is negative. He said that 17482 persons have tested positive for Covid19 and 15572 were recovered.
He said that unfortunately 9 people have died due to infection and till now 717 have lost their life. He said that whenever District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out that about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing.
Civil Surgeon appealed to the residents to follow all directions of the Punjab government and if they would stay indoors, they would not only stay safe themselves, but would also contribute in keeping everyone around safe.
