Patiala, March 6 .The Royal district on Saturday witnessed a Corona blast as 108 more new Corona positives includes 14 School teachers and Seven Students from Seven Schools were found in this district .
In view of the development four schools were immediately ordered for closure for next 48 hours till completition of tracing of contacts and sanitization of the school’s premises properly .
Meanwhile taking a serious view of the development the district administration has instructed a the heads of the schools in the district to implement seriously the norms and guidelines issued by the government to check the further spread of Novel Corona Virus disease as wearing of standard face masks, time to time use of sanitizers in the schools by the students and the staff.Where as 1,068 health & frontline workers and Senior citizens were inoculated COVID vaccine Covishield in 22 government run & private hospitals. Besides Novel Corona Virus disease today failed to took any more live in the district because of this number of total corona deaths in the district stand still at 517 mark.
Whereas the number of total Corona active cases in the district take a jump and touched to 652 mark.Whereas today 108 more new Corona positives were found in the district,The Civil Surgeon, Dr. Satinder Singh while providing details here late this evening told that today COVID vaccination was conducted in 13 government run hospital’s and nine private hospitals in the district and a total of 1,068 health & frontline workers were given Covashield Vaccination. Providing further break up of these, he said that out of these besides the health workers & frontline workers 564 Senior Citizens and 105 persons with 45 years of age were also got Corona vaccination dose.
He further told that as teachers too considered as frontline workers so Education department has started their registration for the COVID Vaccination and in the ward No. 5 of the government Rajindra Hospital here arrangementsvare made to start the work.
Besides under the ongoing “Mission Fateh” 57 more Corona positives were allowed discharge from their caring facilities as their last two consecutive tests came negative thus taking number of total Corona cured patients in this district to 16,435. Whereas today reports of 2,198 samples were received from the Lab out of these were found 108 more new positives with this number of total Corona positives in the district have shot up to 17, 615 .
While providing further details of these 108 new positive cases, he said that out of these 54 cases were reported from different areas of Patiala , 18 from Rajpura , 13 from block Kauli, 7 from Samana , 6 from block Kallo Majra , five cases from block Shutrana , three from block Bhadson and one cases each respectively from block Dudhan Sadhan and block Harpalpur. He further said that these cases came from contact tracing of earlier positive cases and from OPD’s with flu symptoms and all these cases were shifted into caring facilities strictly following the new COVID-19 guidelines and norms issued by the government. Besides their contact tracing and sanitization of their respective areas are also underway.
He said that till a total of 3,70,470 samples were collected from different areas of this district and sent into the Lab for testing purposes out of these were found 3, 50,429 negatives. He said that today teams of the health department have collected 1,650 more samples from different areas of Patiala district and sent these into the Lab for testing purposes besides reports of another 2,026 samples are still pending with the Lab and expected by tomorrow .
