Chandigarh, September 23
The Punjab and Haryana High Court today overturned the single bench’s ruling on the recruitment of 1158 Assistant Professors and Librarians, aligning with the Punjab government’s arguments.
The leaders of the 1158 assistant professors and librarians union met with the Minister of Higher Education, S. Harjot Singh Bains, following the court’s decision and expressed their gratitude for his support throughout the legal proceedings concerning the recruitment process.
On this occasion, Harjot Singh Bains mentioned that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had given explicit instructions to make every possible effort to reinstate this recruitment process. He assured that the recruitment process would be finalised promptly, aiming to rejuvenate the government colleges of Punjab and propel them towards progress.
Convenor of 1158 Assistant Professors Union Dr. Jaswinder Kaur thanked the Minister of Higher Education Harjot Singh Bains over the phone after the High Court’s decision and expressed that our success in this case would not have been achievable without the backing of the Punjab government.
Union leader Dr. Suhail, Dr. Balwinder Singh Chahal, Dr. Harjinder Singh, Dr. Karamjit Singh, Chirag Garg, Tajinder Singh and Dr. Rohit Dhingra met the Higher Education Minister.
